Perception is one of the keys to life. Every person has a different perception and we cannot pretend to see through the eyes of another. We are eternally skewed by our past experiences, the thoughts that continue to run through our minds, and the environments in which we currently and previously lived. As babies and children we are incapable of communicating our our fresh perspective, while as adults who can finally communicate our perspectives, we find that experience has broken us in like an old pair of jeans. We must remember that when we communicate with others we are attempting to bridge years of their and our experiences. We must be willing to listen and seek understanding so that we might expand our view of the world and add another patch to those jeans that have grown so comfortable. Truth may vary from person to person, but the heart cannot tell a lie.
